Tunnel Vision....

I can confidently say I'm focused. I went into the new year working out
three times a week, taking drum lessons, and preparing fresh new music. I'm
definitely set into my rebel mindset, doing what's best for me and not
worrying about what other people think. I can't wait to let you all hear the new music I've been working on, it's probably my proudest work thus far! A touch of R&B, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop and Jazz, and I've put my heart into it.

I've created a vision board to keep me on track, and I swear its been
extremely helpful. If you personally know me, you know that I've claimed
2011 as my "make or break year" so I'm ready to fight for my dream, like
never before. I started doing vision boards a couple years back and its
always been a positive road map for me. I would recommend doing this if
you're heavy on organization and goal planning. I flipped through a couple
of magazines and created my board based on pictures and words that stuck out to me. I look at it every morning to remind myself what needs to be done.

Now back to the NEW music I'm excited about lol! I put out my latest project "Love Pain & Music" as an introduction to my New EP Coming soon. I'm still playing around with the title but it will either be "NB Heartbreak" or "Crazy Sexy Cool" both inspired by two of my favorite groups of all time, New Edition and TLC. What do you guys think?? Anyway, I mainly wanted to grace you all with my presence and update you with what's going on. You will have new music and videos from me very soon...

Why I'm "Screamin'"

Tomorrow I'm debuting my new video, entitled "Screamin'" and I'm truly excited! I was determined to shoot this video in my hometown, Berkeley, CA, because in the last few years the crime rate has increased drastically. With all the negative attention Berkeley and Oakland, CA have been getting in connection to gun violence, I felt it was very necessary for me to bring something positive to my community. Keith Stephens, Zillion Cash, Ronnie Easiley, Marcus Mosely, Maceo Smith, Shandonee Williams, Gary Fergusen, Jr., Ricky 'Greedy' Devers and Khatari Grant are just a few young people who grew up in my neigborhood that have been victims of gun violence. Growing up, violence was always right around my corner until one day it ended up in my backyard. On July 21, 2007 my family came together for a reunion but my sister was running late. Soon after we prayed over the food my mom received a phone call; I didn't know what was being said on the other end but my mothers eyes got big and she whispered "Kiesha...dead?" ok. So my fingers are shaking as I type this, and I'm starting to feel anger and pain all over again, but I'm going to keep going. Her daughter was two at the time, and as all the commotion was going on, she just kept staring at me with these big beautiful innocent eyes. In that moment I developed a brand new responsibility, as an aunt, as a woman, and as an artist. I haven't been the same person since, and I don't know if that is a good or bad thing, but I know it brought on new meaning to my life.

I want the youth in my community as well as communities across the world to know that they can follow their dreams, because they do come true (as corny as it may sound.) I want young girls to know "I'm just like you" and I'm going to be that example...

Love Life.
Hope you guys in enjoy the video
Thanks for your time,

Hi!
My very first blog of 2011! This morning I woke up feeling extremely inspired. I talked my manger's ear off for a few hours about all the major things I want to accomplish this year. I've also concluded that if this "isnt my year" (I hate that line) then I'm going to put my degree to use and look into teaching. Though music is and always will be my first love, plan B is always an opition.
Reflecting back on 2010, though I've had a hard time accepting it, its been a great year. Its been difficult to accept because when you arent where you want to be you often feel like you've done nothing, and I battle with that a lot. Sometimes my friends and family have to remind me to be excited about what's happening with my career, and to be prepared for the things to come. I'm working on it.
I finally purchased Jazmine Sullivans album recently and I instantly fell in love with her song "Famous." If I had to writ a song around that topic, I would say her exact words. "I just want to matter, to the girl watching me on tv, watching me, and I want to be her dream....so I need to be Famous" "My dream is more like a nightmare, keeping me up all night, like a nightmare, it's taking over my mind....."
I just want to make it yall. I went hard in 2010, and I'm going hard on 2011.
More blogs to come about any and everything!
Welcome to my world

About Netta Brielle

Netta Brielle is a uniquely gifted and talented performer. A true "total package entertainer", she is a singer, songwriter, dancer and actress, not just a pretty face. Her soothing voice, electric performance and dominant stage presence constantly gains her new fans & catapults her towards success in the music industry.

Being introduced into performing arts at the age of 5, Netta has always known that she wanted to be an entertainer. Starting out as a young rapper, she found herself in the studio with legends such as Tupac Shakur and dancing on stage at the Oakland Coliseum with MC Hammer. She was able to witness the work ethic and methods of some of the elite talents in the industry at an early age. Growing up with an older sister she was influenced by the music, movies, and style of the 80's. Netta especially liked Sheila E and Janet Jackson and as time went on she began to focus more on singing. Over the years, Netta Brielle has evolved into a powerful vocalist and performer; developing her own style, which she has coined "Urban Pop", taking elements from R&B, Jazz, 80's pop, and Hip Hop and fusing them into her own sound.

As a child, Netta watched her mother struggle to support her and her younger sister, yet always found a way to take them to the latest concert, contest, or talent showcase, knowing it was her daughter's dream. Netta observed every performance she attended and studied
the work of the biggest and best in the industry to help further refine her craft. She struggled looking for good management and people to help her reach her goal, always being let down or unsatisfied. After some time, she decided she had to move on her own and took it upon herself to fund and put together her own mixtape, "Meet Me On The Stage".

During the process of putting the project together, Netta faced another challenge, as she unfortunately had to deal with the untimely and tragic death of her younger sister to gun violence. This deeply affected Netta, and moved her to think about being a positive influence to the younger generation through her music and position as a respected recording artist. At the time Netta was in school at San Jose State University working towards her degree in Musical Theater, and though she had a heavy heart, she still continued on, and in October of 2007, released "Meet Me On the Stage" and a few months later received her college degree.

In April 2008, Netta participated in "The Def Jam Mega Star Search", put together by Shakir Stewart, of Def Jam Records. After performing her single, "Music", Netta proved that she was ready for the next level, and was selected as the winner of the contest and began working with Shakir and his staff to find her place in the industry. After Shakir's unfortunate death, Netta took it back to the drawing board and has since released Electric Rebel Sounds the EP to introduce her new sound to the world and catch the ears of the industry. Netta Brielle is the next urban female pop star to take the industry by storm. Do not sleep...
